Veronika Lukasova / Czech Republic

Photographer and filmmaker currently based between London, UK, and Brno, CZ. A native Czech, Veronika lived for twelve years in the US where she was a regular contributor to The Washington Post Magazine, The New York Times and The Atlantic Monthly. The work took her to Libya under Gaddafi’s regime, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Colombia, around the US and Europe. Her projects contemplate locations that played significant role in the Cold War, communist nostalgia and the intense world of the retired senior citizens. Her collaboration with filmmaker Sebastian Duthy resulted in a series of short films shown at various festivals.
