Ilya Shtutsa / Russia

Photographer based in Saint-Petersburg. Began to practice street photography in 2010 after seeing the works of the In-Public collective. His photographs were published in some Russian newspapers, most of the time he works as a street-musician, so almost all his life is going on in the streets. “My main photographic inspiration is the work of In-Public photographers—Stuart, Autio, Jorgensen and others, but my main ideological inspiration is the books of Arnold Mindell, the founder of the process-oriented psychology. Like Australian aborigines, Mindell claims that all the we can perceive even in our daily life is a dream, as long as our night dreams are. In my photographs I’m looking for some dream-like moments in our daily life.”
