Eastreet is open!
Dear Eastreet Friends,
so it happened – the Eastreet is now open! Thank you all for coming and for your support to our project. We didn’t expect so many people at the opening – this is one more proof of how many people are interested in both street photography and Eastern Europe. Looks like mixing the two aspects together wasn’t a bad idea – it all worked out much better than anticipated.
The opening night was amazing, so was the discussion and late night celebrations afterwards. It was a real pleasure to meet so many of the photographers included in the exhibition in person: Ania Kłosek, Konstancja Nowina Konopka, Marta Rybicka, Federico Caponi, Tomasz Desperak, Mateusz Grybczyński, Jamie Howard, Maciej Jeziorek, Gregory Michenaud, Krzysztof Racoń, Kostyantyn Smolyaninov, Jacek Szust… They are not only talented photographers, but also really nice people, with great passion and open minds. We would love to keep you in Lublin forever – you are always more than welcome here!
Of course big thanks goes to all participating photographers, as well as to my co-curators: Joanna Kinowska, Aleksander Bochenek and Grzegorz Ostręga – it wouldn’t be possible without their knowledge and expertise. Last but not least – thank you, kind people from the Wschód Kultury Festival and Warsztaty Kultury, especially Marysia Artemiuk, Agata Will and Rafał Koza Koziński – for their support and believing in the idea of Eastreet from the very beginning.
Eastreet became not just an exhibition, but also a celebration of street photography and a meeting point – place where we could discuss, share ideas and inspirations. And that makes me happy.
The exhibition is open daily until the end of October, we are planning some additional events real soon. And this is not the end – after Lublin, Eastreet will start travelling. We are planning to show it in some really exciting locations, there will be more news on that in the following weeks, so stay tuned!
Finally, let’s make it official now: see you next year at the 2nd edition of Eastreet!
